United Learning offer 'Get Started' with Functional Skills English from Entry Level 2 to Level 2. These short 11-hour courses are for adults who need to begin to learn English again. The learner will study a range of English skills – reading, writing, speaking and listening – based upon real-life settings. These courses have different aims to learning English as a foreign language. The courses will help the learner to adjust and prepare for the full year course.
These short courses will:
- Prepare adults to begin to learn English again prior to joining a fully accredited English Functional Skills course
- Develop your skills and understanding and confidence in using English - based upon real-life settings
- Help you gain confidence in speaking, listening and communicating
- Develop your reading level and reading comprehension
- Help you to adjust and prepare for the full year course

These are face to face courses that will be held at either Coleridge Community College, Radegund Road, Cambridge CB1 3RJ or Galfrid Community Wing, Galfrid School, Galfrid Road, Cambridge CB5 8ND.
