Do you want to know that you can us IT to an outstanding level in any work environment requiring expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access? Do you want a qualification to prove these skills? The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ICDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in Microsoft applications, and will improve your proficiency in using IT.

Advanced word processing skills to enable you work at the highest level in any office environment. Including:
• Formatting text and tables, working with referencing features and creating tables of contents
• Improving productivity by using fields, forms and templates and using advanced mail merge and macros
• Working with master documents and subdocuments, watermarks, sections, headers and footers
Advanced Excel functions including:
• Creating charts and applying advanced chart formatting features, working with tables and lists to analyse, filter and sort data
• Creating and using scenarios and pivot tables
• Validating and auditing spreadsheet data
• Working with named cell ranges, macros and templates
Developing advanced skills in using Microsoft Access including:
• Understanding key concepts in database development and usage
• Creating a relational database
• Designing and refining queries using wildcards, parameters and calculations
• Using controls and sub forms to enhance forms and improve functionality
• Creating report controls to perform calculations and enhance productivity by working with macros
Making advanced PowerPoint presentations including:
• Creating and modifying templates and formatting slide backgrounds
• Using built-in drawing and image tools
• Applying advanced chart formatting features
• Creating and editing diagrams, inserting movies and sound and applying built-in animation features

How will I attend this course?

How will I attend this course?
This course is delivered flexibly online with regular online support and feedback meetings with your allocated tutor. You will need to commit to working through course material for the agreed hours each week (approximately 4+ hours self study a week) and completing course work by the agreed timescales. You will also need to join the required tutor support meetings. The course length will be approximately 9 to 12 month. The more hours you put in the sooner it can be completed.
You will also be required to complete all the required assessments at one of test locations in Cambridgeshire.

You will need access to a laptop or PC, camera, microphone and internet connection.
We may be able to support you with loaning this equipment if you do not have it

You will achieve BCS – Level 3 IT User Skills (ICDL) a national recognised qualification that will enhance your CV and is recognised by employers, as well as helping you progress to Further Education.

Prior to starting the course, you will be required to complete a brief initial assessment. This will help us understand your current starting point and allow us to tailor the course to meet your specific needs
