Our Family Budgeting course will help you to understand what a budget is and how you can use one to help manage your money. You will explore how we can change our decisions and behaviour to avoid potentially negative consequences from our actions. These can include having a poor credit rating, getting a court fine or being cut off for not paying bills, and even eviction if you can’t pay your rent or mortgage.
You will become more confident in dealing with your finances in areas such as:
Understanding your spending and saving habits
Making and keeping to a budget
Planning for essential and luxury spending
Supporting your child’s money skills
Numeracy skills for budgeting including, multiplications, fractions, percentages.
Skills, techniques, and different tools to use for budgeting.
Planning and forecasting skills
Your tutor will help you to set your own, individual learning goals that will support you towards achieving your course aims.

This course is delivered flexibly online with regular online support and feedback meetings with your allocated tutor. You will need to commit to working through course material for the agreed hours each week and completing course work by the agreed timescales. You will also need to join the required tutor support meetings.
